  • TSMC Starts Pre-Production of 2nm Process, Nvidia and Apple May Become the First Customers
According to Taiwan Economic Daily, TSMC has started the pre-production of the 2nm process earlier this month, which is a major development for the global chip industry. Nvidia and Apple are expected to be the first customers of TSMC's 2nm process, a news that has put enormous pressure on rivals such as Samsung.

The launch of the 2nm process marks TSMC's leading position in chip manufacturing. This process will allow the chip's performance to be significantly improved, while also achieving higher energy efficiency and smaller size. According to TSMC, they are smoothly advancing the development of 2nm technology and plan to achieve mass production in 2025.

Nvidia and Apple, as world-renowned chip demanders, have been very cautious in choosing wafer foundries. However, TSMC's excellent performance in chip manufacturing technology and past history of cooperation made them the first batch of partners to choose the 2nm process. This will bring considerable profits to TSMC and further consolidate Taiwan's position in the global semiconductor manufacturing industry.

For competitors such as Samsung, the launch of TSMC's 2nm process is undoubtedly a huge challenge. Samsung has always been one of the leading companies in the foundry market, but they have not yet been able to launch a 2nm process. If TSMC can successfully achieve mass production of the 2nm process, it will further increase Samsung's competitive pressure in the chip manufacturing field.

TSMC did not disclose specific details when responding to the report, but their successful progress has made the industry's expectations for the 2nm process even higher. The company will continue to be committed to technological innovation and cooperate with many customers to strive to promote the advancement of chip manufacturing technology. For the global chip industry, the realization of TSMC's 2nm process will bring more advanced chip products and further promote technological innovation and development.
